Shoes Review: Womens Heart Jelly Flats

Jelly Shoes Pink Hearts Lady dragonIf, like me, you love Vivienne Westwood’s collaboration with Melisssa shoes, you might be interested to see these copycat Jelly Heart Flats!

You may have seen on the blog before that I have a pair of Melissa/Vivienne Westwood Ultragirl Bow Flats, and I’ve always had my eye on the gorgeous Lady Dragon shoes too.  Then I saw these on Amazon at just £12.99 and decided they’d be a close second.

They come in sizes 3-8 in pink, green, orange, black and white, and the shape and style is almost identical as the Vivienne Westwood ones.

They do come up a little tight, but not uncomfortably so and the shape allows a small wedge under the heel to support your back.  The hearts and peep toes are the icing on the cake – paint your toe nails for maximum effect!

Trollbeads Combo: Spring Time Fairytale

We’ve had such lovely weather lately that I thought it was time for a new Spring Trollbeads combo!   I wanted to go for a fairytale theme, with pastel OOAKs and fantasy silvers, which remind me of spring time in the garden.

I’ve used really chunky silvers, such as the Fantasy Elf and Spirit of Freedom, which stand out boldly against the soft colours of the glass – I think it works, what do you think?

(Working clockwise from the clasp, the 1st, 3rd, 8th and 10th glass beads are all OOAKs)

Crocs Tone Skylar Flat: Toning Shoes Review

Toning shoes have been around for a while now, but I hadn’t really taken much notice until Crocs came out with their own range and in particular, the Crocs Tone Skylar Flat.  Similar to my beloved Malindi Crocs, these cutie pumps are smart enough to wear in the office, comfy enough for long lunchtime walks and light enough to wear on holiday…

Crocs Tone Skylar Flat

Crocs Tone Skylar Flat vs MalindiSweet, right?  Here’s a comparison of the Skylar (in Light Grey/Rose) with my black Malindi – they’re a slightly tighter fit than the loose fitting Malindi, but as with all Crocs, they conform to the shape of your foot for a custom fit.  Mine only took a couple of wears to become super comfy, with or without tights.

So how do Skylar flats work to tone your legs?  Crocs say that their ”Sculpted outsole creates a rocker effect while you walk that can help initiate key muscle activity to provide toning benefits.  [The] toning ring is designed to help moderate movement and provide support contributing to increased muscle activity.”  Watch a video about the Crocs Tone Skylar Slingback Flat here.

Crocs Tone Skylar FlatI wish I’d done a before and after photo of my legs, but alas, I was too excited to start wearing them!  I can tell you though, that there’s a marked difference in muscle tone and my legs feel stronger as a result of wearing these a couple of times a week for the past few weeks.

They also have the usual circulation nubs on the foot bed and are super comfy for all day wear, I love them!

There are several other styles in the range, including a more traditional style Croc (Skylar Clog), flip flops (Skylar Flip) and a closed ballet pump (Julia Flat).

Check out the Crocs Tone range on the Crocs website here or on Amazon UK here.

Race for Life Tribute Trollbeads – Pretty in Pink!

Tomorrow I’ll be taking part in a Cancer Research UK ‘Race for Life’ and to mark the occasion, I’ve created a special pink Trollbeads bracelet.  Unfortunately I don’t have many pink beads, so there are four artisan (non-Troll) beads, but I hope you’ll forgive me, since this is a charitable occasion!  This combo also includes a gorgeous pink and white python from the Cancer Research Empowerment Trollbeads collection

Wish me luck!  P.S. If you’d like to sponsor me, you can do so here.

Trollbeads Valentines Love Nest!

With Valentines day just around the corner, it’s time for a girly pink Trollbeads combo…thing is, I’m not really a ‘pink’ kinda gal!  But of course I do have a few pink Trollbeads so I thought I’d give it a go.  My twist?  A leather bracelet instead of a chain to take the edge off the girliness and a multicoloured bead to make it ‘pop.’  I often do this with bracelets that are mainly made up of one colour, so that the eye knows where to settle when looking at it.  If you haven’t tried this before, give it a go, I’d love to hear if you like the results!

Happy Valentines Day!

Another Crocs Convert – His ‘n’ Hers Caymans!

Over the past year I’ve converted several friends and family to the Crocs brand – and if you’ve visited this blog before, you may well be another one of my converts!  However, I never thought in a million years that my husband would make the switch from his beloved Birkenstocks!  But yesterday, whilst in a sports shop he spotted a pair of bright orange classic Crocs (Cayman) and couldn’t resist trying them on ‘for a laugh.’  Well, of course the inevitable happened, he went for a little walk around the store and soon realised what I’ve been on about for all this time – that they’re so darn comfortable!!  So now we have his ‘n’ hers footwear for the beach…

Yes I know this style is hated by a lot of people (presumably those who’ve never tried on a pair!), but they really are the best thing I’ve found to wear on holiday.  They’re fab for coastal path walks, city breaks and on the beach because they don’t rub anywhere, they keep your feet cool, your legs supported and you can wash them back to looking brand new when you get back at the end of the day!  I even read how a pair of Crocs saved the life of a three year old boy this week – read the article here.

If you can’t wait to get yourself a pair, check out the colours available on Amazon UK here, or if you’re still not convinced, check out my other posts for more fashion-friendly ladies styles…

New Trollbeads OOAKs – I had a splurge!

This weekend we had a very important visitor from the USA, Luvdatrolls, forum admin for www.trollbeadssociety.com!  A bunch of us met our royal visitor at the fantastic Steffans in Northampton and they had so many beautiful OOAKs in stock, I couldn’t resist a little splurge!  Well - there were something like ten racks just of OOAKs – what’s a Trollbeads addict to do?!  So here’s what I bought:

The sharp eyed trollies among you may notice there’s also a Limited Edition Empowerment Pink Python in there – all the way from the United States (thanks Luv!).  I spent a fun evening making bracelets with these yummy new beads – take a look at what I put together…

My favourite is the orange stripes with white dots, as it reminds me of my beloved caterpillar beads!!  Right…now I’m off to embark on my month of living on baked beans ;o)

Why I love: Crocs Olivia Peeptoe Pumps

As you might have noticed, I have a few pairs of Crocs!  They’re just so comfy, I can’t get enough!

Olivia‘ were a present from my husband on valentines day and he chose my favourite colour, purple!  This style is a bit more glam than some of the others and they look super cute under jeans or with brightly coloured tights and a skirt or dress.  They’d also be great for the beach, but I’ve been wearing them all weathers at the weekend, in the office and out in the evening ‘cos I like them so much!

Olivia Crocs Ultraviolet          Olivia Crocs Ultraviolet Peeptoe Pumps          Olivia Crocs Ultraviolet Pumps

They have a sparkly ‘jibbitz’ on the side and a very cute peeptoe cutout, showing a bit of ‘toe cleavage’!  Comfort wise I can’t really fault it – they’re a tighter fit than ‘Malindi’ but the material is slightly more flexible, so in my opinion, even more comfortable.  If your feet tend to get hot in the summer, you might prefer the Malindi style for the extra breathing space, otherwise I’d say go for Olivia!

They’re available in plenty of colour choices – Brown, Red, Bubblegum, New Gold, Dhalia, Ultraviolet and Black – get yours in the UK here or directly from Crocs below.

Crocs Around the World!

Crocs are currently running a project about their wearers Around the World - fans have been invited to send in some words about their experiences so I submitted mine.  Today I was featured as the first story of the series, representing the United Kingdom!

My love affair with Crocs has only been alive for just under a year, but already I have seven pairs!  It all started on holiday last year in Cornwall, on the South coast of England….read the full story here.

Customised Prima Crocs with Pink Ribbons!

I uploaded this photo to Flickr on Sunday evening and it’s had a huge number of views so I thought you guys might like it too…

This was my first pair of Crocs and probably the ones I wear least often.  I always felt there was something missing and Jibbitz aren’t really appropriate for wearing to the office…so I customised them with some hand-tied ribbon.  I LOVE them this way, don’t you?  I’m already planning which colours to try next…
