Crocs Tone Skylar Flat: Toning Shoes Review

Toning shoes have been around for a while now, but I hadn’t really taken much notice until Crocs came out with their own range and in particular, the Crocs Tone Skylar Flat.  Similar to my beloved Malindi Crocs, these cutie pumps are smart enough to wear in the office, comfy enough for long lunchtime walks and light enough to wear on holiday…

Crocs Tone Skylar Flat vs MalindiSweet, right?  Here’s a comparison of the Skylar (in Light Grey/Rose) with my black Malindi – they’re a slightly tighter fit than the loose fitting Malindi, but as with all Crocs, they conform to the shape of your foot for a custom fit.  Mine only took a couple of wears to become super comfy, with or without tights.

So how do Skylar flats work to tone your legs?  Crocs say that their ”Sculpted outsole creates a rocker effect while you walk that can help initiate key muscle activity to provide toning benefits.  [The] toning ring is designed to help moderate movement and provide support contributing to increased muscle activity.”  Watch a video about the Crocs Tone Skylar Slingback Flat here.

Crocs Tone Skylar FlatI wish I’d done a before and after photo of my legs, but alas, I was too excited to start wearing them!  I can tell you though, that there’s a marked difference in muscle tone and my legs feel stronger as a result of wearing these a couple of times a week for the past few weeks.

They also have the usual circulation nubs on the foot bed and are super comfy for all day wear, I love them!

There are several other styles in the range, including a more traditional style Croc (Skylar Clog), flip flops (Skylar Flip) and a closed ballet pump (Julia Flat).

Trollbeads Black and Gold – A Classy Combo

Well it’s been a while since I last bought a Trollbead – since that splurge back in May in fact!  I’m waiting for the first UK Trollbeads Convention in October for my next purchase(s)!  However, I was lucky enough to get a couple of gorgeous Trollbeads for my birthday – Third Eye Chakra and Black Armadillo.  I originally had them both on a black/purple/gold combo but have since switched to a simple, classy black and gold design:

Trollbeads Black Gold

This goes with pretty much any outfit and really shows off the beauty of the gold beads, don’t you think?  These are also some of my most treasured for sentimental reasons – Daisy was a first wedding anniversary present from my husband (daisies were our wedding theme), Around The World was my prize for winning a Trollbeads ‘Be Original’ competition, Gold Endless was a leaving gift when I left my last job and Small Planet was bought by all the attendees of the first UK Trollbeads meet-up in 2008.

Clockwise from Mexico Lock: Safety Chain, Stopper, G, Grey Wolf, Space, artisan, Labradorite, Around the World, artisan, Black Diamond, Daisy, OOAK, OOAK, Gold Endless, Milan, artisan, Small Planet, Black Armadillo, C.

Customised Prima Crocs with Pink Ribbons!

I uploaded this photo to Flickr on Sunday evening and it’s had a huge number of views so I thought you guys might like it too…

This was my first pair of Crocs and probably the ones I wear least often.  I always felt there was something missing and Jibbitz aren’t really appropriate for wearing to the office…so I customised them with some hand-tied ribbon.  I LOVE them this way, don’t you?  I’m already planning which colours to try next…

Check out all the colours available on Amazon here: Crocs Prima Ballet Flat or through Crocs directly below.
